Foma is one of those riders who doesn’t just perform difficult tricks — he constantly pushes the limits of what’s possible on a motorcycle. His riding style is recognized far beyond Russia, and some of his combinations remain incredibly challenging even for experienced professional stunt riders.
For his Triumph Street Triple 675, we manufactured a custom Crazy Iron Handbrake bracket designed to accommodate three brake calipers on a single rear brake disc.
Why would anyone need three calipers? Let’s take a closer look.

What Is a Handbrake and Why Do Stunt Riders Need One?
Imagine a motorcycle riding on its rear wheel at an almost vertical angle, while the rider is standing on the tank or moving their legs over the handlebars.
In that position, reaching the standard rear brake pedal is simply impossible. But braking is essential — the rear brake helps control the motorcycle’s balance point and prevents it from flipping backward.
That’s exactly why stunt riders use a Handbrake — an additional rear braking system operated by a lever mounted on the handlebars.
It allows the rider to control the rear wheel with a finger, even when their feet are nowhere near the standard footpegs.
Why Three Brake Calipers Instead of Two?
The most common stunt braking setup uses two rear brake calipers. One is operated by the standard foot pedal, while the second is controlled by the handlebar-mounted handbrake lever.
However, professional stunt riding sometimes requires a more advanced configuration — three brake calipers working on a single rear brake disc.
A typical setup works like this:
• First caliper: Operated by the standard rear brake foot pedal. • Second and third calipers: Connected to the handbrake system and can operate simultaneously through a single master cylinder mounted on the handlebars.
Why use two calipers for the handbrake?
The main reason is to achieve the required braking force while keeping the lever effort comfortable and manageable. With a properly matched hydraulic system, this arrangement can provide strong and precise rear braking with just one finger.
For a stunt rider who is simultaneously controlling the clutch, throttle, balance, and body position, that makes a real difference.
Of course, three calipers don’t automatically mean three times the braking power. The actual performance depends on piston sizes, master cylinder specifications, brake pads, disc characteristics, and the overall hydraulic setup.

What Makes the Crazy Iron Handbrake Bracket Special?
Now let’s talk about the engineering behind the part.
All three calipers must fit around a single brake disc with precise alignment. They must not interfere with one another, and the bracket must withstand significant forces generated during braking.
We manufacture these components from high-strength aluminum alloys using CNC machining.
And there’s much more to it than simply choosing a strong material.
The position of every mounting surface, the accuracy of each bolt hole, the rigidity of the bracket, and the alignment of each caliper relative to the brake disc all matter.
A Handbrake bracket is not just another aftermarket accessory. It is a structural component of the braking system, and its design directly affects how reliably that system operates.
Crazy Iron and Professional Stunt Riding
Our collaboration with Foma Kalinin went beyond the Handbrake bracket.
His Triumph Street Triple 675 was equipped with several other Crazy Iron components, including a crash cage, stunt pegs, oversized sprockets, and additional stunt riding equipment.
Projects like this are particularly interesting to us because professional riders often have requirements that go far beyond those of everyday motorcycle owners.
Sometimes a few millimeters make all the difference.
Control ergonomics, component positioning, and how each part behaves during demanding tricks become extremely important. ** This kind of experience helps us develop components not only for professional stunt competitions but also for riders building their own stunt motorcycles.**
Today, Crazy Iron manufactures Handbrake brackets for various motorcycle models, designed to accommodate additional rear brake calipers and different braking configurations.
And we’re proud that our products are chosen by riders whose performances are watched, studied, and admired by the stunt riding community around the world.
